With COVID ruining all the fun in 2020 we take a look at some of the great ballparks the Ski and Brew Review team would have visited this summer…

Busch Stadium - Saint Louis, Missouri

Every summer the Ski and Brew Review team inevitably finds itself trucking through the midwest. Kansas City and Saint Louis are your only options until Denver so grab a Budweiser and enjoy fantastic views of the Gateway Arch.

Citi Field - Queens, New York

The only good thing about this pandemic is wedding season has been cancelled. The bad thing is my trip to New York and pilgrimage to the two big apple ballparks has been lost as well.

Yankee Stadium - The Bronx, New York

Not as charming as the original and beers are basically a $1 and ounce, but we still miss this cathedral badly.

Coors Field - Denver, Colorado

Ski and Brew Review’s “hometown” ballpark has one of the nicest aesthetics in the game. No need to find your seats keep walking around and sampling the large craft beer selection.

Minute Made Park - Houston, Texas

Formerly known as Enron Field this great stadium is home to the Houston Astros who cheated their way to the 2018 World Series.

Wrigley Field - Chicago, Illinois

These old ballparks are not the best for fan experience anymore. With tight concourse, small seats, and bad site-lines, it’s easy to see why they build them differently now. A visit to Fenway or Wrigley is an absolute must for any fan to take in the old nostalgia.

Citizens Bank Park - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philly fans are wild but this place is tame compare to the old Vet. That is probably a good thing as throwing batteries at opposing players occurs less often here.

Tropicana Field - Saint Petersburg, Florida

This place was a dump 18 years ago but at this point we’d catch a game anywhere.

MCU Park - Coney Island, Brooklyn

We can’t leave out the minor leagues! Honestly these lower division games can be a relaxing, personal experience compared to the huge venues in the MLB. A US city of any size is likely to have a minor league team, but where else can you watch a professional eater consume over 50 hotdogs in 10 minutes and then catch a game next door?

Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park - Charleston, South Carolina

River Dogs.JPG

Come watch the River Dogs ( Yankees single-A ) play at “The Joe” and enjoy some lowcountry specialities like $2 natty light Thursdays.

Olympic Stadium - Montréal, Québec

The Expos may be long gone but the stadium built for the 1976 Summer Olympics still stands.

Chase Field - Phoenix, Arizona

Our love of travel and baseball was inherited. The ability to watch a game at a ballpark, even without someone, remains very powerful and importnat to us.
